On a mission to change the future of medicine, HealthMatch is driven to accelerate medical research by facilitating faster access to life-changing medication and clinical trials.
With a fast-growing team quickly outgrowing their original co-working space, HealthMatch was on the lookout for a new office to expand and grow into which truly represented the company’s mission.
Due to the incredible growth of the company, we quickly set to work planning for the ideal HealthMatch team. We became aware after talking with the client, that although the core business was at times a sobering topic, the team was vibrant and optimistic.
Walking out of the lift core, the existing space had distinct zones already in place. One side was bathed in natural north facing light and the opposite a much cosier feel, removed from direct sunlight. The two zones were separated by an existing meeting room block and a long bright corridor to the back of the lift core supported the kitchen and breakout facilities.
Working within timing and budget constraints we maintained existing conditions that best utilised the space and organise the team resulting in two core working areas separated by often-used meeting spaces and interesting informal meeting zones. To equitably spread the natural light, we located the breakout in the brightest area and built upon the already existing services to create a new bar and breakout.
Overall, the tone of the space was developed alongside the vibrancy of the HealthMatch brand. We had fun in developing a bright, colourful, and playful palette that represented the optimism of the team. HealthMatch was incredibly open to interesting and new ways to work, and through collaboration, we developed customised working pods and a fun breakout hammock for downtime and team events.
Together with a motivated client and a decisive detail focused building team, the project came together quickly. In a matter of weeks, the space was transformed from a dark and dingy office to a bright and energetic workspace that the HealthMatch team will no doubt grow into quickly in their mission to change the future of medicine.
